The movie is very enjoyable: fun, scary, as well as entertaining. As a child, the movie was pretty terrifying, and this is what makes Hocus Pocus such a fine movie considering it's a Disney one. Like I said, the movie was a terrifying one; I mean, the witches were pretty scary. It were those witches that made this movie a success - the witches were brilliant right the way throughout. There's nothing the witches could've done any better. The rest of the characters were also impressive. I really liked the "talking" cat. Each of those recurring characters offered something to the movie - you could just tell. It's a great Disney movie to watch especially during the Halloween season. I'm surprised there hasn't been a sequel especially after there were talks of being one ever since Hocus Pocus was released. Also, I'm actually surprised it was released so soon into the nineties because I thought a movie like that would come out a lot later or something.

This is the ultimate family friendly Halloween movie. The acting is contextually appropriate and properly executed. The story/mood/look of the movie is spot on Halloween. It's spooky and cute at the same time.

You don't have to like family movies, but if you watch this movie expecting a halloween horror movie, you're kinda stupid...

You always look fierce. If they had like a rich emerald green shimmer or even matte in the palette I would have been all over it. But I spent my money of the nightmare before christmas collection and regret nothing. Lol.

Oh i wish we had a camera. Yep cause every parent wants pictures of their kids being chased by strangers. I first saw this film when it came out on pay-per-view and when I was 9-years-old. Now I am 23 and not only is it a favorite of mine, but a classic with my 7-year-old little sister, Miracle. Probably our favorite character (or mine anyway) is Thackery Binx whom I like both as a cantankerous black kitty and as a dashing young man played by Sean Murray. I also love the bond that develops through the film between Thackery and Dani, Max's little sister, Dani. I like the scene where Dani takes Binx home as her new cat and the two snuggle together while Binx purrs himself to sleep. However, my favorite scene in the whole movie is the ending where Dani and Binx say good-bye and Binx kisses Dani on the cheek. As for disturbing parts of the film, the only one that some people might be troubled by is the scene at the very beginning when the witches suck the life force completely from Thackery's little sister, Emily. The theme of the plot represents the bonds between siblings. But it does this without becoming too heavy or sugary. Great family Halloween film that I recommend.
